Eating In

If you wish to stay in for dinner the Hut provides a fully equipped kitchen, induction hob, ceramic sink, microwave, fridge with ice compartment. Furthermore, in the neighbouring village of Middleton-in-Teesdale there is a local supermarket and Butchers and Deli. Barnard Castle offers local Delis, Butcher, Bakery and Greengrocer and a popular farmers market available on Wednesday, and every first Saturday of the month. There is also the option of popping to the local supermarkets in Barnard Castle.

If you fancy a night without the cooking take away food is available from the following places.

The Blacksmiths Arms-A traditional Village pub serving drink and pizza within walking distance from Toadlands.

The crown at Mickleton- Village pub and restaurant serving a great selection of food and drink (currently closed but serving take away). Great beer garden. Within walking distance from Toadlands.

The Tees'pot- Friendly Cafe with homemade food.

Samuel James- Deli and cafe serving breakfast,lunch and dinner.

Middleton-in-Teesdale Fish and Chip Shop- Serves award winning Fish and Chips, seating outside or take-away.

The Artisan Corner- Deli and Cafe, serves great coffee.

Babuls Barnard Castle-Indian restaurant and cocktail bar.

The Bengal Merchant- Indian restaurant.
